Here are some of the key people on my campaign team in 2010. Pat Sawatzky has stepped forward to be my Campaign Manager — thank you, Pat! I am so grateful! Pat has been a longtime advocate for children, public education and families and has served as School Council Chair at Rideau Park, DS MacKenzie and Harry Ainlay plus on the Board for the former organization called APPEAL (Albertans Promoting Public Education and Learning). Supporting her (and me) are Barbara Jean Lake-Ramnath of Twin Brooks as Flyer Chair and my son, Owen Ripley as Online Chair. Once again my niece Tracey Ripley is designing my flyer. Thank you, all!
Here are some ideas of ways — big and small — by which you could help with the campaign:
- Be sure to vote on Monday, October 18, and please vote for me!
- Remind your family members, friends and neighbours to vote on October 18, and ask them to vote for me.
- Email an endorsement of me as Ward H Trustee and a link to this webpage to your friends and family.
- If you are on Facebook, please “like” my Let’s Re-Elect Trustee Catherine Ripley page, and please suggest this page to your friends. (See left menu bar for a link to do this. It’s easy!)
- If you are on Twitter, please follow me at @cripleyepsb.
- Join me for breakfast on Saturday, September 11, 8:30 – 10:30, and sign my nomination papers. (Please RSVP to Pat by September 8 at pat@catherineripley.ca) All are Welcome!
- Sign up to deliver flyers on my behalf (60 - 90 flyers takes about an hour, depending on the density of the housing and the speed of the walker). Send an email to Barbara Jean c/o Pat.
- Invite me for a coffee with your friends and neighbours so they can ask me questions and share their ideas.
- Put a sign on your lawn. (All signs will be removed promptly after Monday, October 18.)
- Door knock with me.
- Donate funds to my campaign via Pat.
- Stay informed and keep in touch. Please join my Insights email list to which I send out news of what is upcoming at the Board table and in the ward every 2-3 weeks during the school year, so you can contribute your thoughts ahead of the decision (rather than react once the decision is made). Samples are available.
